Girl Scout Troop 70970 will be in the Narthex selling cookies on February 23rd and March 1st. If you would like to help support the Girl Scouts who meet regularly here at Grace please stop by their table in the narthex.
Lunch Bunch will meet on Tuesday, February 25th at 1p.m., at Silver Spoon Restaurant, 1601 W. Jefferson St. Reservations to Rae by February 23rd. Come and join us---all are welcome.
UMC CHANGES Meeting—On March 1, 2020, from 9:00-10:00am a meeting will be held in the sanctuary to share information about changes happening in The United Methodist Church. Lay Leaders, Joe and Maida McCormack, attended an informative Conference meeting recently, and they gathered information they’d like to share with Grace folks. Please plan to: attend this meeting, pray for Grace church and the United Methodist Church at large and its leaders, and hold our General Conference Delegates in your prayers. We hope to move forward peacefully with clarity and respect.
On March 4 a group will travel to Port-au-Prince, Haiti as a mission outreach of Grace UMC. The group going is Meredith Schroeder, Steve Meister, Jason Meister, and Stephanie Meister. They will working with the HIS Home for Children orphanage. They are looking for donations to take baby formula, oral antibiotics, fever reducers, cough medicine and vitamins. Checks can be made out to Grace UMC with a note in the memo of “Haiti Trip”. Also donations will be accepted to offset the airfares for our young college student going.
The Walk: Five Essential Practices of the Christian Life, By Adam Hamilton

Spring Auction & Potluck: March 7, 9:30AM
Our Spring Auction is always a fun time. We donate Spring items, for the auction. All money raised supports our mission projects, Blankets, purses for the Guardian Angel Domestic Abuse Program, Haiti home, etc. After the auction of course there is a potluck. All items for the auction happily accepted. Bring a dish to pass. All women of the church invited to join us!
Health Ministries Program—March 15 @ 9am in the Sanctuary. This program is about resources offered by Senior Service of Will County which are available to anyone 60 and older. This informational program could benefit you or someone in your family. Bring a friend and join us! For more information call Pat.
Mission of the Month—Daybreak Shelter, Joliet
Daybreak Shelter operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides emergency housing and supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless. Some participants in the program are in need of short-term housing, as a result of a situational crisis. Others need support services as the work to reestablish permanent housing. Homelessness prevention services are also provided to individuals and families who are at risk of losing their homes.
Experience the Bible as it was intended to be shared – as story told by heart in community! On March 15 at 3 p.m. Grace UMC will host tellers from Prairie Wind Guild: Tellers of Sacred Stories in a presentation of Acts of the Apostles, an abridgement that will share the highlights of the narrow escapes, intrigue and excitement of the new church’s Spirit-directed growth from Jerusalem all the way to Rome in two hours. The tellers, including Becky Potter, are passionate about bringing Scripture to life through the ancient-future art of biblical storytelling. Admission is free; an offering will be received for the work of the guild.
Come and SEE! A One-day Retreat for the Women of Plainfield UMC and Grace UMC
Saturday, March 14, 9:00 -3:30pm at Plainfield UMC, 15114 S. Illinois Street, Plainfield.

Come. Join the circle of women as we pause during the Lenten season for 6½ hours to remember that we are God’s beloved and to practice seeing ourselves and others as beloved. During this day we will sing, eat, laugh, pray, listen, create, share our stories and rest in God’s loving presence. Invite a friend to come with you.
Suggested donation is $20, due by March 8th. We want you to come, so pay whatever works in your budget. All materials, lunch, and a morning snack are included. Childcare will be available upon request by March 8th. Register and pay by contacting Judy Bartels or at church on Sundays, February 16th, March 1st, and March 8th. Retreat is limited to 40 participants.
